KEYAH/BLU BOLLOCKS

KEYAH/BLU is back with her first track of the year 'Bollocks', following on from the heavy 'Icey Go', released last year, featuring Denzel Himself. Keyah attended a drama school in L.A, but music swiftly took its place when she began collaborating with Denzel Himself, missing her lessons to stay at home and make music all day. Contrasting the harsh fuzziness of 'Icey Go', 'Bollocks' is softer, sentimental and uplifting. The production is crafted from a sample made of snippets of piano with an analogue hip-hop feel, paired with snappy electronic beats. Keyah's vocals are layered in different pitches, blurring the line between singing and rap. Her vocals gain pace when she spits the catchy line, 'Don't be mad at me, I charged up these batteries, never seen a bad girl worry, I'mma do too much, no such thing as losing touch'. On an Instagram post Keyah explains: 'It’s about loving yourself and being okay with who you are. also there’s a bit at the end about fucking'. Check it out here. -Ellie Rose-Davies
